Who Is the Real Erzsébet?

Four Paintings of the Countess


Every picture of the Countess Báthory is different, but there is only one original. Which is it? The original, says the Cachtice Museum curator, is stolen, probably taken to Nagyecsed, Hungary. There are five paintings of the Countess to compare. All are drawn from the elusive original; three claim to be photos of the original. Who is the real Countess?
